The Galliera Museum shares with M&L a passion for Frida Kahlo. A committed woman artist, she was particularly elegant. She knew how to mix contemporary and ethnic clothing, proudly displaying her commitment to oppressed peoples. Our exclusive, limited edition hand-embroidered brooches feature the particularities of this great lady : her portrait, her bruised heart united with flora and fauna, and the Mexican tunics.
The embroideries of the brooches are created and designed especially by M&L designers. They are entirely handmade, in cannetille thread, according to a very old Indo-Pakistani technique. That's why in 2009, M&L recruited their embroiderers in Pakistan where they built their own craft workshop.
