3 vases of the series 'Phases' by Studio Jeroen Wand.
The basic shape of these vases, which is based on one mould, is cast in plaster and dried. Then this hardened shape is immersed in still liquid plaster, so that this liquid plaster attaches itself to the exterior of the shape. The basic shape that has an almost sleek design is therefore given an irregular and uncontrolled outer layer.
This unique process, in which two phases of the same material react with each other, is a biochemical reaction inherent to plaster. The hardened plaster and the still liquid plaster react with each other and together form the face of these vases.
The colours: ochre, soft pink, anthracite, white, taupe
